Ben prides himself on his approachable and relatable relationship style when working with clients. He represents a reassuring voice for business owners or CFOs who may be “lonely at the top” and looking for an informed advisor to act as a sounding board.
Realising audit was an opportunity to genuinely help business owners and CFOs grow their businesses and make them more successful, Ben chose audit as a career path early on. He has developed a personalised approach to audit and financial reporting that enables him to get to know businesses intimately, identify risks and opportunities, and create bespoke outcomes that directly address their needs.
Ben is motivated by the dynamic nature of his role as a partner, with no two days feeling the same. The businesses he works with are at different stages of maturity or facing different issues, and he enjoys being thrown a challenge and successfully solving it. Ben was quick to identify the risk to clients around payroll compliance and recommended the development of a robust offering from Pitcher Partners to provide informed guidance.
As part of the Melbourne South-East leadership team, Ben spends a lot of time based in the region getting to know local businesses in distribution and manufacturing. He also specialises in working with businesses in the food and agribusiness sectors.
Ben joined the firm in early 2000 as a graduate. After secondments in the UK and United States, he was appointed to the Melbourne firm partnership in 2015.
