Andrew Yeo

Partner, Melbourne

Andrew holds a dual specialism in both personal and corporate insolvency. As a liquidator and registered trustee in bankruptcy, he relishes the challenge of finding solutions for complex problems where there’s no straightforward solution. He is thorough, resourceful and determined when chasing down answers for creditors.

Andrew’s expertise can span any industry, business or scenario. One day he might be winding up a travel agency in Melbourne; the next chasing down a lead in Romania. He and the team have a hard-earned and well-deserved reputation in Australia for taking on the more difficult cases on a speculative basis and doing their utmost to exhaust all avenues and get a result.

Andrew is an Official Liquidator of the Supreme Court of Victoria and Registered Trustee in Bankruptcy. He is also a former Chairman of the Public Practitioners Committee of CPA Australia, the CPA Insolvency and Reconstruction discussion group and the Legislation Review Board. His expertise is regularly sought by the ATO, AFSA, ASIC, the SRO, and large financial institutions for formal appointments involving complex and intensive investigations.

Each year, Andrew travels around regional areas of Victoria with Pitcher Partner’s Critical Point Network (CPN), sharing advice and expertise with smaller accounting firms. Part of his family were born and bred in the country, and the road show is a welcome chance to get out of the city and talk to the down-to-earth practitioners from towns including Mildura, Shepparton, Warrnambool and Wangaratta.

Andrew graduated in 1991 during the last big recession in Australia. With multiple businesses going bankrupt, this area of accounting was booming and he was intrigued to explore an area beyond auditing. He jumped at the chance to join Pitcher Partners as a graduate in 1992, and became Partner in June 2003.
