Senior Analyst/Associate – Transaction Services

Due to on-going growth, we currently have a vacancy for a enthusiastic and driven Associate to join our Corporate Finance team.
The Role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our Sydney team and specialise in financial due diligence. You will be working with the team mainly on buy side and sell side financial due diligence and sell side assistance. You will be exposed to a variety of challenging and stimulating work across a diverse range of ASX listed & private companies, Private Equity and family offices.
You will work directly with our group of partners, directors and clients, where the outcomes of your work can have immediate impact on the deal. You will also help drive the strategic direction of the corporate finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with financial due diligence procedures, helping to identify key risks and potential deal breakers.
- Analysing detailed financial statement information including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and key operational data. Synthesize and convert the data into meaningful information that is used to drive discussions with target management and drive observations and conclusions.
- Assess the quality of the target company’s reported earnings, net assets and cash flows.
- Assist/Draft the financial due diligence report and presentations for clients that highlight the key financial, commercial and other findings and the drivers behind business performance and cash flows.
- Assist how such findings should be incorporated into the client’s valuation and sale, purchase agreement and provide other negotiating points
- Participate in meetings and conference calls with target company management and with client personnel
- Be actively involved in building and maintaining client relationships and other business development opportunities.
What we are looking for:
- Completed a Bachelor’s in business / commerce with a major in accounting
- A qualified CA or equivalent
- Minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in Audit or Transaction Services
- Logical thinking, strong attention to detail and proactiveness whilst working on a variety of projects.
- Demonstrate keen interest in Australian mid-market M&A and awareness of deals
- Strong numerical & analytical skills, attention to details with sound business acumen
- Team oriented individual with strong interpersonal & client relationship skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint & report writing skills
