Intermediate Accountant – Private Business & Family Advisory

We are looking for an Accountant to join our Private Business & Family Advisory team. In this role, you’ll work closely with a diverse range of clients and be part of a dynamic, collaborative team. You’ll receive mentorship opportunities and will deliver a variety of taxation, financial, and business advisory services.
You will:
- Prepare financial statements, tax reconciliations and income tax returns for companies, trusts and consolidated groups
- Complete GST, FBT and payroll tax returns
- Review client data and prepare first-draft financial and tax documentation for manager review
- Support the delivery of tax and business advisory services, identifying opportunities to add value to clients
- Maintain regular communication with clients, ensuring timelines and expectations are met
- Collaborate with Managers and Partners across engagements to deliver quality outcomes
- Ensure accuracy and quality control across all work produced
- Use accounting software (MYOB, Xero and similar platforms) to manage client records and resolve issues
- Manage competing priorities to meet deadlines across multiple engagements
Who we’re after
As the ideal candidate, you will be degree-qualified and working towards your CA or CPA, with experience in a business advisory environment. You’ll bring:
- Strong technical capability across accounting and tax compliance
- Experience with GST, FBT and payroll tax obligations
- Confidence working with client accounting systems (e.g. MYOB, Xero)
- Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
- A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to team outcomes
