Pitcher Partners appoints two new partners to its network

PITCHER PARTNERS MELBOURNE 28 SEP 2022:

Pitcher Partners Melbourne has appointed Liesl Malcolm and Stephen Craig as Partners in its Corporate Finance team.

Managing Partner of Pitcher Partners Melbourne Brendan Britten congratulated the new Partners on their promotion.

“By investing in and developing talented people we are able to continually grow the value we can offer our clients – who are the engine room of the Australian economy.

“Liesl and Stephen’s commitment to understanding our clients upholds our reputation for providing excellent commercial acumen and technical expertise,” he said.

“They will each bring their unique skills and understanding of the middle market to our Partnership, as well as the leadership they have shown in helping to grow our Corporate Finance practice”.

Liesl Malcolm has extensive experience in valuations, providing expert reports for litigation matters, financial reporting purposes and tax restructures. She prides herself on providing valuation reports and advice that is simple, clear and easy to understand.

She joined Pitcher Partners’ Corporate Finance team in 2007 and also undertakes intangible asset valuations for corporate transactions, pre and post deal valuation support and employee equity valuations for accounting purposes.

Liesl is passionate about providing clients with expert advice and says that guiding clients through the valuation process to a positive outcome is a highly rewarding part of her job.

“The skills that my clients’ value are technical knowledge, commercial solutions, independence and providing reports that simplify complex issues in a clear, easy to read manner,” she said.

“Making business personal means taking the time to get to know a client and really understand their business. Listening to their views and opinions allows me to put myself in their shoes. “

Stephen Craig is an experienced corporate finance practitioner, having worked previously in a boutique advisory firm and in industry, alongside private equity investors.

He joined Pitcher Partners in 2015 and has progressed quickly through the ranks because of his expertise, dedication to clients and success with deal-making.

Commenting on his appointment, Stephen said: “Pitcher Partners has a strong reputation within the deal-making market and I’m pleased to be appointed partner and embrace the terrific opportunity for me to grow my career in this practice.”

Stephen works on both the buy and sell sides of mergers and acquisitions for Pitcher Partners clients, and on the due diligence that accompanies the process. He prides himself on delivering to stakeholders a clear understanding of all requirements throughout the lifecycle of a transaction and assisting clients in achieving a successful outcome.

“I’m always trying to understand the client’s broader goals, which only comes from working alongside them, rather than for them,” he said.

“To be entrusted to deal with what is often the life’s work of a client is a great responsibility, so it’s important to not only focus on the outcome, but to provide guidance and support throughout the entire transaction.”
