Kerry is an accounting technical (IFRS) and financial reporting specialist, advising on accounting technical and related governance matters for our clients, partners and staff. With over 25 years of professional experience in a range of accounting, governance and audit related roles, Kerry understands the reporting and legislative challenges that preparers face in the listed and private company sectors, as well as the not-for-profit sector.
Over the course of her career, Kerry has held technical and policy roles within the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission, Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Big 4 accounting practice. She has provided advice and training in each of these roles on accounting technical and law related matters, including to the ACNC on NFP reporting matters. She has spent time in these roles on various councils and committees, including the ASX Corporate Governance Council, the AICD’s Reporting Committee, the AASB’s NFP Project Advisory Panel and the CA ANZ NFP and Charities Advisory Committee. She currently is on the Audit Committee for a large charity.
Since joining Pitcher Partners, Kerry has provided specific accounting advice to clients on the application of accounting standards, including the adoption of the new leasing standards and the new NFP revenue and income standards. She also assists many listed companies and some NFPs on appropriate disclosures in their financial reports. Further, Kerry is involved in our advocacy activities with regulators and standard setters, bringing practicalities for clients and staff into consideration. Keeping our staff and clients up-to-date with technical changes, Kerry regularly presents webinars and provides online articles and resources on how these changes affect for profit and NFP private sector entities.
