Due to on-going growth, we currently have an excellent opportunity for an analyst to join the corporate finance team.
The Role:
As a Valuation Senior Analyst, you will support the delivery of valuation engagements through financial modelling, analysis, research, and report writing. You will be exposed to a variety of challenging and stimulating work for a diverse range of ASX listed & private companies. Your responsibilities will include:
- Work within project teams to undertake valuations of businesses, equity interests, financial instruments and intangible assets. Your work will be for various purposes including pre- and post- transaction advisory, tax-related purposes, financial reporting such as purchase price allocations, impairment testing, and employee share schemes.
- Supporting the end to end delivery of valuation engagements, including analysing key business value drivers, commercial rationale, and strategic considerations.
- Building and reviewing detailed financial models incorporating scenarios and sensitivities to support valuation outcomes.
- Undertake in-depth analysis of the key commercial and financial aspects of target businesses.
- Perform market research including industry, comparable company and benchmarking analysis.
- Preparing clear, well-structured valuation reports and presentations to communicate findings.
- Communicate and resolve issues as they arise.
- Develop and maintain relationships within the firm and external stakeholders.
- Engage directly with senior personnel, as appropriate.
- Assist with preparing proposals and fee estimates for new and potential clients.
- Assisting with general marketing and operational activities.
Who we are after:
Ideally, you will ring 3-4 years’ experience in corporate finance, audit or equities analysis within a Big 4 or mid-tier chartered firm, with at least one year dedicated to a valuation or corporate finance advisory role.
You will hold strong academic credentials, including a finance or accounting degree, and be CA qualified, progressing along a CA pathway or pursuing an equivalent postgraduate qualification. CFA candidacy or completion of a recognised corporate finance certification would be highly regarded.
Other key skills and personal attributes we are looking for include:
- You will possess strong analytical capabilities.
- Experience in financial modelling using MS Excel and related software preferred.
- An interest in, and familiarity with, AI-enabled productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT and Claude will be highly regarded.
- Well-developed commercial acumen and sound technical finance knowledge.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles, gained through formal studies and practical exposure in corporate finance, audit, valuation or related advisory roles.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and well-structured reports.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a strong sense of ownership over work delivered.
- Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to contribute meaningfully within a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- A genuine desire to continually develop your own capability and support the development of others.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately across complex financial information.
- An interest in building professional networks and contributing to the development of new and existing client relationships will be highly regarded.
