Peter is an expert in business advisory, with a broad range of experience gained across accounting, tax advisory and tax compliance roles. More recently Peter has also started to focus on delivering a range of solutions to clients as part of an outsourced finance function service. He works with a dedicated team that covers the whole finance function for businesses, including payroll, accounts receivable and payable, monthly reporting, annual accounts and tax.
Peter has gained significant experience in a number of sectors including sales and marketing, manufacturing and information technology. He has recently homed in on the property and construction industry, member-based organisations and service providers.
With almost a decade’s worth of experience in senior finance roles for a multinational FMCG company, Peter has walked in the shoes of the clients that he works with today. This gives him greater insight into the challenges faced by business owners and senior business leaders. Peter appreciates the additional value he can offer by getting out of the office to work side-by-side with business owners and CFOs. Even though they may have a solid grasp of their business financials, a trusted partner can interrogate decisions or lend a fresh perspective to drive greater efficiencies and growth.
Peter is deeply empathetic and uses his business skills and networks to support initiatives that make a positive impact on people and communities. He sits on the risk and audit committee and also the Victorian committee for Tour de Cure, a charity which raises money for cancer research and awareness programs. He also recently launched a new charity with two colleagues known as the Hanna Foundation, in memory of friend and colleague Phil Hanna. The charity aims to raise funds to assist with suicide prevention programs and also help leading mental health organisations run their programs for free in underprivileged communities.
Joining Pitcher Partners early on in his career, Peter was recruited by Mars Incorporated for a Tax and Treasury role and also spent two and a half years as their CFO in New Zealand. He was responsible for implementing change across three business streams and two countries. He initially re-joined Pitcher Partners in 2008 as a tax director, but his flexibility, adaptability and broad expertise were the ideal fit for a new team focussed on growing and delivering an outsourced finance offering. Peter became a Partner of the Melbourne firm in July 2011.
