Elisha Herbert

Partner, Melbourne

Elisha brings 18 years of experience as a tax advisor, including 13 years with Pitcher Partners’ Tax Advisory Group. She specialises in GST, advising on a range of compliance matters, business and asset sales and acquisitions, private ruling applications and objections, and reviews of accounting systems to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Elisha also advises on GST governance and regularly supports clients through the Australian Taxation Office’s comprehensive review and audit programs. 

Elisha works with clients across a range of industries, including property, retail, manufacturing and food. She has a particular interest in residential and commercial property development, margin scheme opportunities and structuring property acquisitions and sales to achieve optimal tax outcomes.  

A passionate advocate for her clients and the profession, Elisha serves as Deputy Chair of the Tax Institute’s National GST Technical Committee and is a member of the Property Council of Australia’s Indirect Tax Committee. 

She is also committed to mentoring and developing the next generation of professionals, finding great reward in supporting younger professionals across the firm to identify their strengths and reach their full potential. 

Elisha is known for her ability to interpret complex legislation and translate it into practical, commercially focused advice. Clients value her attention to detail and her clear, approachable communication style. She builds lasting relationships by taking the time to understand what drives her clients and their businesses, working closely with them to deliver tailored, strategic solutions. 

Elisha’s experience across a wide range of industries and GST matters enables her to anticipate challenges and uncover opportunities for her clients. Her deep technical knowledge, combined with a strong commercial mindset, allows her to deliver advice that is both technically sound and aligned with her clients’ broader business goals.  

Elisha joined Pitcher Partners Melbourne in 2012 and was promoted to Partner in 2025.
