Analyst/Senior Analyst (Funds Management)

Meet your team

This fast-growing team, which sits within our Business Advisory and Assurance practice area, provides our managed fund clients and their business groups with professional and commercial accounting and tax advice. 

About the role

Working collaboratively in a tight knit team, you will be responsible for providing our managed fund clients a mixture of accounting, advisory, tax and compliance services.

You will be provided with technical and on-the-job training on managed funds, to help you grow to become a specialist in the field. You will work closely with the tax advisory group and will report indirectly to our managed funds tax advisory partner.

The successful candidate will be a willing participant in growing the managed funds practice within a prominent mid-tier professional services firm.  However, it is not critical that you have managed funds experience.  

Key responsibilities

  • Preparing special purpose financial statements for trusts and companies
  • Preparing and presenting workpapers and file in a clear and logical manner
  • Preparation of income tax returns for managed investment trusts, ordinary trusts and companies
  • Discussing and liaising with managers and tax specialists if further analysis or assistance is required
  • Drafting taxable income calculations and distribution calculations in accordance with investment memorandums and trust deeds
  • Assisting with preparation of investor tax statements and periodic holding statements
  • Setup, onboarding and management of clients on fund administration platform
  • Assisting with answering ad hoc queries raised by investors, auditors and other users of information
  • Preparing ongoing quarterly and annual lodgement obligations

Relevant qualification and experience

You have an accounting qualification and experience in an accounting or tax role within a professional services firm.

Keen learner

You will be a willing participant in our growing Funds management service offering and are keen to continue growth and development within this field.

Effective communicator

You have strong communication and collaboration skills, coupled with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships. You can work confidently with people at all levels.
