MW Recruitment and the MND and Me Foundation Swim
The MND and Me Foundation is a not for profit organisation that was formed to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease. The MND and Me Foundation has partnered with a Brisbane recruitment firm since 2010, raising funds with an annual Swimming Carnival for firms in the professional services industry.
Pitcher Partners Brisbane has been a proud supporter of the event since it’s inception – and a proud winner of the Championship Cup four years in a row!
Each year the Pitcher Partners Brisbane partners and staff join forces, both in the pool and financially, to raise much needed funds for the MND and Me Foundation. A highlight of the event is always the celebrity swimmer auction with notable Australian and Olympic swimmers on hand to support the MND and Me Foundation.
RSPCA Cupcake Day
Every August, in support of RSPCA QLD, several Pitcher Partners Brisbane colleagues put their baking skills to the test and make cupcakes to sell around the office. RSPCA QLD relies predominately on donations and works tirelessly to improve the lives of all domestic, farmed and native animals throughout QLD. Staff were particularly moved by the media attention on ‘puppy farms’ and the shocking conditions these dogs live in.
The RSPCA works tirelessly to save the lives of animals, big and small, throughout Queensland.
Staff are always happy to dig deep into their pockets to support the RSPCA (with the added bonus of getting to enjoy a cupcake or two!). RSPCA is also client of Pitcher Partners and the Partners proudly donate annually to this worthy cause.
Each year Pitcher Partners Brisbane proudly support Olivia’s Lunch. Olivia’s Lunch has been raising funds to support premature babies at the Mater hospital for over 10 years, and has raised well in excess of $500,000 in memory of Olivia Clark (26 February 2001 – 4 March 2001).
Olivia was born prematurely at the Mater Mothers Hospital and was cared for in the Neonatal Critical Care Unit (NCCU). Sadly she lost her struggle for life. It is in her memory that vital funds are raised for the Mater’s NCCU. This unit cares for babies who are born prematurely or have life threatening conditions. Each year the aim is to raise funds to help give the 2,000 premature babies treated annually at the Mater a give them a better chance of survival.
The AEIOU Foundation is a not for profit organisation dedicated to providing a professional full-time early intervention program of the highest quality for children aged 2 to 6 who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
The Annual AEIOU Take a Hike Challenge is held every October. Since its inception, Pitcher Partners Brisbane has had Partners and/or staff participate in the walk.
Staff can choose between the 42, 21 or 10.5 kilometre walks, with the 42 kilometre walk taking approximately 9 hours to complete. Take a Hike funds raised goes directly to closing the $10,000 funding gap experienced every year for each child in their early intervention program.
While also being a major sponsor of the AEIOU Foundation we are proud to support our Partners and staff each year as they take on the hike challenges to help raise funds and awareness for this worthwhile cause.
