Tom Splatt

Tom is an admitted lawyer and chartered accountant, with significant experience providing tax advice to a wide range of clients, especially in the context of mergers and acquisitions and other significant transactions. He has worked in a wide range of industries including mining, oil and gas, financial services, infrastructure, property and mining services.

Tom provides tax advice and due diligence services in the context of multinational transactions, including the provision of acquisition due diligence assistance to a confidential bidder in relation to its attempted acquisition of JP Morgan’s physical commodities business. He has worked on some of Queensland’s largest transactions such as Peabody’s c.$5 billion acquisition of Macarthur Coal and with recognisable names including Morgans Stockbrokers, FirstMac and Icon Cancer Care. Recent work has included IPOs for National Tyre & Wheel and Opticomm, and with activity for successful start-ups Seekplant and Field Orthopaedics.

Prior to joining Pitcher Partners, Tom worked for EY, where he was seconded to London for two years in the Transaction Taxes team. Today, he has a unique international and transaction tax specialisation.
