About the Role
As an Accountant in our PBFA division, you’ll play a key role in preparing financial statements and tax returns, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting, and contributing to proactive client service. You’ll work across a diverse client base – from ambitious family businesses to high-net-worth individuals – delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS/IAS for a diverse client base
- Preparing workpapers and standard financial statements from client records in line with firm standards; applying analytical review procedures (e.g., ratio analysis)
- Supporting managers and supervisors with advisory projects and client meetings; capturing actions and maintaining accurate job progression in workflow system
- Contributing to process improvements and efficiencies in workflow and ways of working
- Assisting junior team members, including offshore team, and supporting their growth as capability develops
- Managing expectations through clear, timely communication; escalating issues early and delivering to agreed timeframes and budgets
- Adhering to the firm’s System of Quality Management (SOQM) and information security controls
About you
You’re a motivated professional with:
- Minimum 3 years’ practical experience in public accounting
- Completed or nearing completion of Bachelor of Commerce (or similar) and/or have commenced the CA program
- Sound technical understanding of accounting, income tax, CGT, FBT, and GST concepts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to embrace and adapt to change
- Experience in dealing with clients on job-related matters or other ad hoc requirements
- Proficiency with accounting/tax software and Microsoft 365
- Data analysis and analytical review skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- A strong desire to learn and grow your skills, with a high level of curiosity and engagement with our core values
