Your new role
Our well established and growing Tax Advisory group have specialists in all relevant areas of taxation law, supported by a large team of experienced professionals who can manage any issues regardless of size or complexity.
The Transaction Taxes team operates as a cohesive group within the Practice, where collaboration is encouraged, and regular training keeps the team up to date on current tax matters.
This diverse role will see you providing state taxes advice that is both technical and practical around stamp duty, land tax and other state taxes across a range of clients within Australia and internationally.
Your key responsibilities will include;
- Providing technically accurate, commercially focused and tailored advice and solutions to clients and internal stakeholders
- Preparing private ruling applications, objections correspondence, lodgements and relief applications
- Handling investigations and other compliance activities undertaken by various revenue offices and dealing with disputes with revenue offices
- Building and managing client relationships and collaborating with internal stakeholders
- Active involvement with the delivery of internal and external training and business development initiatives
What you bring
You have a law and/or accounting degree and at least two to three years’ experience, ideally in the area of state taxes or in a different area which requires interpretation of legislation.
Commercially minded, you think strategically and can work either work autonomously or collaboratively in a team. You have strong legislative interpretation skills and can craft well written, accurate and practical pieces of advice.
You are an effective communicator, being able to deliver technical advice and training to clients and internal stakeholders clearly, and within a timely manner.
You are self-motivated and able to manage conflicting deadlines. You have a genuine interest in furthering your career in state taxes and providing exceptional advice to our clients and internal stakeholders.
