Australian Property Investment Forum

By Andrew Clugston - July 27, 2016

Property and International Business specialists from across Pitcher Partners have wrapped up another successful Australian Property Investment Forum at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

Together with our affiliate Baker Tilly Malaysia, and Knight Frank, the forum provided clients in Malaysia with insights into Australian property investment and the recent important taxation changes impacting foreign investors.

Among the topics covered at the forum were: updates on the foreign stamp duty and land tax surcharges in Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales for foreign purchasers of real estate in Australia; and the recent successes of the Baker Tilly Malaysia stamp duty team working with Pitcher Partners to obtain exemptions from these surcharges.

As with previous years, this forum has attracted another great turnout with some of the representatives from the most well-known and respected industry players such as EcoWorld, IJM Land, GuocoLand Malaysia, UEM Sunrise, Sunway Property Group and SP Setia attended the event.

We thank you for your support and hope that you have gained valuable insights and knowledge about investing into the Australian property market.
