Graduate Auditor

About the Role

An opportunity is available for a permanent full-time Graduate Auditor to join our team.  Ideally, this role would suit a 2017 Commerce graduate.

The role of the Graduate Accountant is to assist with the completion of numerous audit engagements. This position offers plenty of variety. It requires an individual who is self-motivated, responsible, has an ability to reflect on one’s own work as well as the wider consequences of financial decisions, has sound business acumen and interest, and is organised and able to manage deadlines.

Due to the nature of this position, the incumbent may be expected to work outside normal working hours as are reasonably necessary to carry out the role.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Auditor-in-Charge with the preparation of working papers for audit engagements.
  • Undertake the preparation of evidential files for small audit engagements.
  • Examining entity accounts and financial control systems.
  • Preparation of financial statements and other value-add management reports.
  • Working closely with our client base to gain a thorough understanding of their core business in order to provide them with meaningful recommendations to improve their systems.
  • Regular correspondence and contact with key managerial staff within our client base.
  • Undertaking regular training sessions (including our national graduate training program) whilst working as well as completion of further studies towards attaining your CA or CPA degree.

Intermediate or Senior Auditor

About the Role

An opportunity is available for a full-time, Intermediate or Senior Auditor to join our Perth Business Advisory and Assurance team.  This role will primarily provide accurate and timely audit services to our clients and assistance to the BA&A team.

The responsibilities of this role includes, but are not limited to:

  • Planning audits, including budgeting and technical advice. You will work across a diverse range of clients across a broad section of industries.
  • Liaising directly with clients as the central contact point on small to medium audit requirements and providing value added services to the clients.
  • Preparation and/or review of financial statements including the review of staff fieldwork and completion of the small to medium audit engagements.
  • Assist with multiple medium to large audit engagements, utilising the Pitcher Partners audit methodology in order to identify client risk and design appropriate procedures to mitigate these risks.
  • Actively liaise with Executive Directors and Managers in relation to audit engagements, divisional activities and divisional administration matters.
  • Providing supervision and mentoring of graduates.
  • Building and retaining relationships with other staff within the BA&A Division.

To be considered for this role, you will be CA / CPA qualified or undertaking your Capstone module and will have between 3-4 years audit experience gained in a Big 4 or mid-tier professional services firm. 

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be a motivated and driven person who is able to handle competing priorities.  A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required and knowledge of Caseware is preferred in this role.  

You will demonstrate strong time management and communication skills with a client focused approach to work and the ability to work in a team environment.

An opportunity now exists for a full-time, experienced accounting professional to join a premier Insolvency team outside the Big 4.

In this role you will:

  • be involved in a variety of insolvency jobs in both personal bankruptcy and corporate administrations including liquidations, receiverships and voluntary administrations.
  • assist with medium to large and more complex assignments.
  • work closely with other areas of the firm to provide trusted specialist advice to their clients.
  • assist in the supervision and mentoring of graduates.

Commercially astute with the ability to develop strong relations, you will be tertiary qualified in business, accounting, finance or law and have completed or be near completion of CA/CPA. Ideally, you will have at least 4 years insolvency experience.

To be successful in this role, your communications skills, integrity and trust will be paramount, coupled with your focus and commitment to clients. You will possess exceptional analytical and report writing skills with a consultative style and manner.
